Ideas and opportunities fly as agency CEO’s meet the media in the first Pitch Room
A unique initiative creating real-time interactions between marketers, agencies and media has recently been launched in Sydney with great success.
Media Pitchfest, opened its first ever ‘Pitch Room’ where media teams presented 5 minute pitches in a ‘speed dating’ format to 10 tables of media agency CEO’s and their senior executives.
“From the hour long session,
8 out of 10 pitches have been
invited for a follow up or
Henry Tajer, Executive Chairman of IPG MediaBrands who attended the launch Pitch Room, recognised it as a highly efficient and “actually fun” way for his teams to discover and connect with a wide range of media ideas and opportunities, “some which we wouldn’t normally see. Many could be a valuable part of our client recommendations now and into the future. We look forward to our continued involvement with Media Pitchfest.”
Streaming radio service Pandora, won Pitch of the Day with ANZ MD Jane Huxley commenting, “The Pitch Bootcamp, understanding the audience and the brief, meant my team was prepared to maximise their opportunity in front of senior media CEO’s and buyers. The day was well organised, the energy level was high, and it was a fantastic result for Team Pandora.”
To ensure maximum benefits for buyers and sellers, Media Pitchfest’s strategy is based on both media curation and training skills. Media teams are given full training and support through a specialised Pitch Bootcamp and are hand-selected to pitch to marketers and agencies in response to a specific brief or defined areas of media interest.
Media Pitchfest was founded by Marcia Raheb from corporate training and coaching business ThinkSayDo and is affiliated with Denise Shrivell from MediaScope. ‘We bring complementary skills through Denise’s industry knowledge and well developed network and my training and media market experience”, says Raheb. “Overall our aim is to create a faster, effective, real-time platform which directly connects and benefits marketers, agencies and media within an increasingly difficult to navigate landscape.”
In July, Media Pitchfest is setting up Pitch Rooms in agencies across the city for a ‘New & Newsy’ Roadshow where new, emerging and first to market opportunities will be highlighted. “Media providers are continually creating a ‘new or newsy’ component to their mix and want to get their message in front of key decision makers who are time poor and often under resourced” says Raheb.
Marketers, agencies and media can be part of July’s ‘New & Newsy’ Roadshow or request a pitch through the Media Pitchfest site here
Next Wednesday (4th June) Denise Shrivell will be teaming up with Darren Woolley of TrinityP3 to present the results of the latest State of the Media survey at mUmBRELLA360 and together they will host a panel discussion to look at potential solutions for some of the issues raised
